More on Rural School Closures

I wrote a few days ago about proposals to preserve rural schools as hubs of their communities.

Just this morning, I learned about this project to support rural communities facing pressures to close or consolidate their schools and it looks like an excellent resource (and perhaps relevant for anyone advocating for public education in their communities).

I also just ordered the new book on rural first-generation students in elite universities by the academic who maintains this website, Mara Casey Tieken.

(And in another post, I'll think out loud about how many books we now have about first-gen students in elite colleges and how few we have about first-gen students in the public colleges where the vast majority enroll. But for now, attention to rural students is much needed and welcomed.).
