I'm sure that I'm not alone among readers of this site in questioning today what a career long/ life long work for equality and justice has meant. I'm sure that I'm not alone in questioning what I do now, with allies and on my own, to continue that work in meaningful and impactful ways. I'm sure that I'm not alone in the unshakable truth that as we began to convince ourselves of progress, everything instead will be so much harder.
I am a teacher and will always be a teacher. I don't know what else I'll say about my myself next month, next year, or beyond, but for now I'll push back the looming paralysis to keep posting resources here, to keep trying to put a human face on class inequality and injustice, and to hope for conversation about all of these things as allies in this work, whether in the comments or beyond.
One step at a time. I'll have more to share here soon.
